The fair is an opportunity to learn about the many ways one can volunteer at the church built in 1735, according to council chairman John Bowden. More than 250 men and women volunteer their time and talents in areas of research, tours, gardening and education.

Volunteers also help at various special events, work with school groups, maintain the volunteer library and maintain the costumes that docents wear for special occasions, said Bowden. Council members and staff will explain the many volunteer programs.

“Volunteering at Historic Christ Church is an enriching experience,” said Bowden. “It is a way to meet interesting people, be part of an enthusiastic, special group of people and keep the history of the beautiful site alive.”

Volunteering does not require a large amount of time and is very rewarding to those who agree to be a part of the organization, he added.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer is invited. Refreshments will be served.
