Rappahannock Art League Patrons’ Gala ticket holders Blaine and Nan Liner select their favorite pieces of art work in anticipation of the June 30 event.
Gala chairman Cheryl Mihills reports that over half the tickets have been sold.
The Patrons’ Gala provides an opportunity to own an original piece of art of one’s choosing. Through a drawing at 5 p.m., patrons use their tickets to select paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry, baskets, fiber or wood creations.
These original pieces of art are on display at the Studio Gallery at 19 North Main Street in Kilmarnock from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
After viewing the art, guests may purchase a ticket for $100, attend the drawing and go home with a piece of art work valued at far more than the price of a $100 ticket, said Mihills. If ticket holders are unable to attend the June 30 gala, an RAL member will represent the ticket holder during the drawing.
The number of tickets sold is limited to the number of works of art donated by local talented artists, providing every ticket holder an opportunity to choose their favorite piece of art.
“Everyone wins,” she said.
The gala includes refreshments and supports the RAL, which in turn provides art programs and activities for the community. The reception is sponsored by Chesapeake Investment Group.
