12 Northern Neck
District athletes make
all-region softball team

The Northern Neck District filled 12 spots on the All-Region A softball team including pitchers Mary Kathryn Hall of Northumberland and Brooke Hudnall of Lancaster.

King William pitcher Kayla Huffman was named the region’s pitcher of the year and Cavalier infielder Essence Jackson was selected as the player of the year.

Rappahannock pitcher Hallie Berger was the Division 1 tournament MVP and catcher Megan Jenkins of King William was the Division 2 tourney MVP.

Others from the Northern Neck District named to the all-region team are infielders Savannah Wood of Essex, Brandi Mulvena of Rappahannock and Taylor Childress of Northumberland. Outfielders are Kelsey Berhalter of Rappahannock and Jessie Rew of Northumberland.

Brittney Owens of Essex was named the team’s designated player and Carlie Clarke of Rappahannock, Taylor Glass of Essex and Emily Broache of Essex were named at-large players.

Quinlan Moore of Middlesex and Bailey Kujawski of Mathews also were named at-large players.
