Competition entries will be accepted only on Monday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Memorial Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds. Everyone will be able to view these judged works starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Create photographs and write-ups of old barns in the Northern Neck. Check the competition guide for contest details under the photography competition.

Admission is $2 per person per day. On Thursday and Friday, admission is free before 5 p.m. Parking is free all the time.

Ride-all-night wristbands are available at area businesses before the fair opens at a discounted price of $10; and at the fairgrounds, good for that night ($10 special on Tuesday, $25 Wednesday and Thursday).

The baking contest subject this year is a Fresh Strawberry Cake. Entries need to be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday. After judging, they will be auctioned off on stage at 7:30 p.m. to benefit the 4-H Scholarship Program.

Seniors Morning will be Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. Crafts and displays open in the Memorial Exhibit Hall and free tour rides of the fairgrounds will be available.

Plan to visit the beef cattle show on Wednesday, the sheep/goat show on Thursday, the miniature horse demonstration on Friday, and on Saturday enjoy the hunting dog show, poultry and rabbit judging and the pet show.

Get your tossing stance ready for the corn hole contests Friday and Saturday, and your feet revved up for the square dancing on Saturday night. There is Bingo, fabulous food and memorable music at the fairgrounds every night.
