Barbara W. Richard

HEATHSVILLE—On Sunday, March 11, 2018, Barbara White Richard was called home by Our Lord after she won the battle and is victorious in his hands.

Born June 3, 1941, she is survived by her loving husband, Frank Richard of Heathsville; and three children, Victoria Beecher of Portsmouth, Valerie Beck of Weems and Harry (Trey) White and his wife, Kathy of Chesapeake.

Barbara has six grandchildren, Phillip Beecher and his wife, Amelia, Megan and Robert White, Olivia and Caroline Beck and Juliette Wallace; and great-granddaughter Natalie Beecher; along with a blended family of Robert and Fern Richard, Deborah and John Crawford, and Joseph and Raynee Richard; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Barbara’s brother, Dr. Joseph Stogowski and his wife, Nancy reside in Heathsville.

Born in New Jersey, Barbara graduated from Radford University in 1961. After graduation, she was an educator in elementary and secondary schools. Barbara taught for 15 years after which she had her own business for 25 years called The Fitting Room specializing in medical garment fittings.

Barbara was a member of Living Water Lutheran Church in Kilmarnock, serving as organist for several years.

Barbara will touch our lives forever through her undying presence while her soul soars above us.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. April 28 Living Water Lutheran Church, 83 Bluff Point Road, Kilmarnock.
