Bay Bash Fishing Tournament and Benefit Concert set Saturday

The third annual Bay Bash Fishing Tournament and Benefit Concert (baybash.com) will be held Saturday, August 11, at Ingram Bay Marina in Wicomico Church.

This is a full-day event featuring a multi-species fishing tournament followed by a benefit concert, featuring the Tom Euler Trio, reported Mary Pipkin. Other attractions include food, beverages, a raffle and a bounce amusement for the kids.

The tournament offers cash prizes for 10 different species of fish as well as a grand prize division sponsored by Seigler Reels where anglers compete for the longest total inches of all their species combined, said Pipkin. There also are youth, ladies and special angler divisions.

The event will be officiated by the Northern Neck branch of Fish Dispatch USA, providing cutting edge technology with an online leader board throughout the tournament to track catches and current status. No other local tournament has this technology.

Entries include power boats, $75; canoe/kayaks, $30; and pier/shore anglers $15. This is a tournament where kids are able to participate on the same level as adults, while still competing with each other in their own division, said Pipkin.

The tournament is limited to 100 entries. A captains meeting and late registration will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, August 10.

The concert, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, is open to the public.
