Black and Hudgins celebrate 25th anniversary with investment firm

WHITE STONE—Davenport & Company recently announced W. Keith Hudgins and John A. “Jay” Black III recently marked their 25th anniversary with the firm. Both were honored at a reception at the firm’s headquarters in Richmond on April 25.

Hudgins, a senior vice president-investments, and Black, a first vice president-investments, have spent the majority of their careers working together as the Tri-River Investment Group. The Tri-River Investment Group provides financial consulting and asset management solutions to individuals and their families and asset management services for business owners, corporations, foundations, trusts and endowments.

“So much has changed in the financial industry over the past 25 years but our focus of providing quality asset management solutions for our clients has never wavered,” said Hudgins. “The success we’ve achieved over the past quarter century is a true testament to the company’s sound investment strategy and commitment to put our clients’ needs first.”

“The market is certainly a much different animal than it was 25 years ago. In that time, technology has improved and we have experienced the ‘tech/.com bubble,’ the last great recession, historically low interest rates and a monumental increase in trading volume,” added Black. “I’m proud that through the peaks and valleys we have been able to provide positive, consistent results for our clients.”
