Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School to celebrate 20 years with gala fundraiser

The Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) is celebrating 20 years of educating select high school students from 14 school divisions in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula in an enriched program of marine and environmental sciences.

The CBGS Education Foundation will host a fundraising gala from 3:30-6:30 p.m. November 10 at the Deltaville Maritime Museum & Holly Point Nature Park Events Pavilion, 287 Jackson Creek Road, Deltaville.

“Having CBGS for students in a rural area like ours gives them the opportunity to be challenged through this science and math based program,” said Elizabeth Johnson, foundation board director.

The foundation invites the community to join in this celebration and to help support efforts to raise funds for scholarships and equipment purchases…
