David W. Coleman


BALTIMORE, MD.—David William Coleman of Baltimore died August 10, 2018. He was born December 25, 1931, the son of the late David Coleman and Elsie Scott Coleman.

He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, White Stone, and a graduate of A.T. Wright High School, White Stone. He served in the U.S. Army for 10 years and fought in the Korean War. Coleman was honorably discharged on May 15, 1962.

Coleman was employed by the Department of Education in the Baltimore City Public School system. He retired on June 30, 1994.

He was a member of the Monumental Elks Lodge #3, where he served as financial secretary and exalted ruler.

He is survived by a special friend, Jaunita Bryant; sisters, Elsie Norris, Gracie Johnson and Ida LaRhue; and brother, Lloyd Coleman.

A service was held August 25 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church; interment followed in the church cemetery.
