Edward A. Clark

KILMARNOCK—Edward Allen Clark, 71, of Kilmarnock unexpectedly passed away on June 2, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol A. Clark; sister, Linda Sweeney; sisters-in-law, Cindy Morris (Artie) and Cathie Elliott (John); nephews, Eddie Sweeney and Barry Bernard; nieces, Candy Bond (James), Sharon Sweeney, Sherry Sweeney Terrones, Laura Roberts (Richard) and Leslie Maione (Michael).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Caron; sister, Sheila Moquin and brother-in-law, Edward Sweeney.

Edward was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Edward received associate degrees in criminal justice and police science from Northern Virginia Community College. He graduated with honors, magna cum laude. After working more than 30 years, he retired from the D. C. Department of Corrections.

Edward was a loving and devoted husband and friend to many. He loved to be near the water and was an avid boater. In his spare time, he enjoyed building race engines for his boats. Edward loved music and played several instruments: piano, bass guitar, organ, rhythm guitar, drums and electric guitar. He often invited his musical friends over for jam sessions.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the funeral home.

Edward loved music. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Rappahannock Music Study, 98 Tide Point Lane, Kilmarnock, VA 22482.
