JV Lady Indians post unusual soccer record

In junior varsity girls soccer, the Lady Indians played two back-to-back ties last week to bring their record to an unusual, 0-0-5.

Last Wednesday, Heaven Walker scored both goals for Essex in a 2-2 tie with Northumberland. The Lady Indians took the lead on a Jessica Lee goal 22 minutes into the game and Essex responded four minutes later. Emily Rice scored on a header to give NHS a 2-1 lead at the half.

Walker scored a second goal to even the score at 2-2.

JV teams do not play overtime.

Last Thursday, Northumberland and Washington & Lee played to a scoreless tie with “goalie Jayna Bramblet having a very good outing,” said NHS coach Mark Fridenstine. “Nigeria Ball, Anna Jett and Gracie Sisson also had good games.”
