Kilmarnock Farmers Market is expanding

The Town of Kilmarnock is seeing steady foot traffic at its monthly market. The next market will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.

“July’s market brought us over 530 people,” said special events coordinator Ashley Jones. “With each market we are expanding not only with new and exciting vendors, but the participant foot traffic is fantastic.”

Cora’s Kitchen will join the August vendors, said Jones. Cora Tiggle will join the market this month with some delicious home cooking. She will bring coffee, biscuits and breakfast items for those early market visitors.

Other vendors will include Rivah Southern, spices, dry rubs, seasonings; Blenheim Organic Gardens, organic veggies; Gregory Family Farms, lamb, chicken, beef; Great Harvest Bread Company, breads; Garner’s Produce, vegetables, herbs, fruits and plants; Brindle Bay Farm, pasture-raised chicken eggs; Summer Duck Farm, pork; Mooch’s BBQ, Pig Lotion BBQ sauce; and Miss Mary Seafood, fresh shrimp, fish. Bryan Byrd of Byrd’s Seafood will offer demonstrations to help educate people on the best way to cook their seafood.

The market offers a “hit list” of items presented by each vendor, said Jones. These items are popular for the season. Please stop by the information table to grab the list. Cooler bags will be on sale for $10 at the information table.

Anyone with bay-to-table or farm-to-table products wanting to sell at the market should contact Jones at 435-1552 x30 or [email protected].
