LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened August 17 with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.

The case of Aaron D. Beale of Lancaster, charged with two felony probation violations, was continued to October 12.

The deferred disposition of Richard Walters of Gloucester, charged with three felony and two misdemeanor offenses of a probation violation, was continued to October 26.

The deferred disposition of Purcell O. Owens of Mollusk, charged with a misdemeanor probation violation, was continued to October 12.

The case of Floyd D. Newton of Callao, charged with a felony probation violation was continued to November 16. He also was arraigned on a failure to appear felony offense which was continued to November 16.

The case of Christopher E. Pack of Lancaster, charged with a misdemeanor of possessing marijuana, was dismissed.

The case of Douglas R. Broadus of White Stone, charged with two felonies of carnal knowledge of a child younger than 15 and failing to comply with a pretrial release, a misdemeanor of consensual sex with a child older than age 15, two misdemeanors of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and three misdemeanor charges of failing to comply with pretrial release, was continued to October 12.

The case of Linnell S. Burrell Jr. of Weems, charged with a misdemeanor of failing to appear, was set for trial October 12.

Steven Noel of Weems, charged with a felony of object sex penetration by force, was found guilty of an amended charge of aggravated sexual battery and was sentenced to 10 years with 8 years suspended.

Lacey R. Michalak of Farnham, charged with a felony of embezzlement, pled guilty and a pre-sentence report was ordered for October 12.

The case of Steve E. Robinson of Lancaster, charged with two felonies of aggravated sexual battery with a child less than age 13 and two misdemeanors of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, was continued for trial November 16.

The case of Josaline Murphy of Lancaster, charged with failing to comply with a pre-trial release, was continued for arraignment August 24.

Shavon M. Newton of Lancaster, charged with a misdemeanor of destruction of property with intent, pled not guilty and the case was dismissed.

The case of John R. Hooper of Richmond, charged with two felonies of not stopping at a boating accident that resulted in a death and involuntary manslaughter, was set for jury trial beginning February 13.

The case of Ralph J. Gross of Lancaster, charged with a felony of aggravated sexual battery, was continued for the appointment of counsel September 14.

The case of Karon M. Ball, no address given, charged with two felonies of  grand larceny and entering a house to commit assault and battery, was continued to August 24.

The case of Darwin L. Jackson, no address given, charged with three felonies of assault and battery, abduction and strangulation with injury, was continued for arraignment October 26.

The case of Keywon M. Gaskins of Kilmarnock, charged with two felonies of manufacturing or distributing a controlled substance and selling or providing resale of a schedule I or II drug, was continued to October 26.

The case of Marshall T. Smith of Kilmarnock, charged with a misdemeanor of violating a protective order, was continued for trial November 16.
