Lancaster Little League fields runner-up in District 15 tourney

The Lancaster County Little League Major (11-12) Baseball All Stars went 4-2 to finish as the runner-up in the recent District 15 tournament in Caroline County.

Richmond County proved to be Lancaster’s stumbling block, beating Lancaster twice in the double elimination tournament.

Lancaster opened the tournament with a 15-3 win over King George on June 24. Johnny Lee was the winning pitcher with Spencer Cammarata and Eli Pittman putting in an inning each on the mound. Brenden Walker had the big bat for Lancaster, hitting two home runs and a double for four RBIs. Sean Thomas went 2-for-4 with a triple.

Lancaster worked its way through the winner’s bracket with an 8-1 win over Middlesex on June 25 and a 6-2 win over Spotsy National June 27.

DJ Zeiler went three innings for the win against King George with Thomas pitching one and Cammarata pitching two to close. At the plate, Walker hit his third home run in two games and had two RBIs. Johnny Lee went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Thomas put in three innings of work on the mound for the win against Spotsy National.
