Lancaster planning commission ranks proposed capital improvement projects

Emergency services and schools made up the bulk of the list of fiscal year 2019-20 proposed capital improvement projects discussed by the Lancaster planning commission March 21.

Commission members ranked 13 budget requests from county departments totaling $82,205,543 and voted unanimously, 6-0, to set them for public hearing April 18 at the County Administration Building, 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster.

Members present were chairman Ty Brent, Steve Sorensen, Dave Chupp, Robert Smart, Glendon Pinn and Tara Booth. Tom Richardson was absent. Members had each previously prioritized the project requests and they worked towards a consensus on the ranking during the meeting.

Locating all emergency services together at the courthouse is a priority, said county administrator Don Gill.
