Light of Christ members participate in Prison Ministry


Members of Light of Christ Anglican Church in Heathsville recently delivered cookies to inmates at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn for the Kairos Prison Ministry 52nd semi-annual event.

Walt TeStrake, Bart Morrison, Ernie Proctor, supported by Rev. Mary Swan, were part of a multi-denominational team of 26 volunteers from numerous Virginia localities to minister to Buckingham residents, reported Peggy Lasanske.

Kairos, Greek for “God’s Special Time,” is a four-day program of carefully structured activities, talks, meditations and an invitation to begin a personal relationship with Christ.   

“Members of Light of Christ baked 2,160 of the 32,364 cookies that were delivered to inmates while sharing God’s forgiveness, discussing emotional walls and Christian action,” said Proctor…
