LPS students participate in Virginia Reads One Book

Some 41,000 public school students and their families from 41 school divisions across Virginia are reading the same book on the same schedule.

The program, Virginia Reads One Book from Richmond-based Read to Them, started February 5, the day after Super Bowl LII. That’s the day all participating schools, including Lancaster Primary School, received their new books provided by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation.

Chesapeake Bank served as a sponsor of the program at LPS. To kick off the program, Redskins offensive guard Arie Kouandjio read the first chapter aloud on a video cast…
