Margaret C. Tyler

KING GEORGE—Margaret Cecelia Tyler of King George died May 30, 2018.

She was born December 10, 1948, to the late Robert Wells and Margaret Barnes Wells.

Margaret attended Charles County, Md., public schools. She later attended Strafford Career Institute and received a diploma as a physical therapist aide and nursing assistant.

She was employed by Captain Drinks Seafood Restaurant in Newburg, Md., for over 15 years. She was a domestic worker for over 30 years.

She was a member of Litttle Ark Baptist Church, King George.

Margaret also was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Peter Tyler; brother, Ronnie Wells; sisters, Annie Mae Hemsley and Mary C. Ford; and grandson, Carlos Johnson Jr.

She is survived by daughters, Thelma Hargray of Dahlgren, Audrey Thomas of Lanham, Md., Althea Johnson of Washington, D.C., and Cherese Tibbs of Waldof, Md; her fiancé, Thomas Lofton of Dahlgren; sisters, Paulette Thomas, Elaine Johnson, Joan Wells, Mary Wells, Sheila Thomas and Alice Thomas; brothers, Joe Wells and James Wells; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and god-daughter, Melinda Yates.

A service was held June 6 at Little Ark Baptist Church. Internment followed in the church cemetery.
