The Northern Neck Master Naturalists will hold the first of four meadow workshops at noon April 13 at the Northumberland Public Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
The workshop will feature award-winning landscape designer Betsy Washington and accidental meadow maker Bryna Brennan. Washington will explain the basics of creating a meadow, the overall benefits and steps toward sustainability, reported Brennan.
The Master Naturalists promote the use of meadows to feed pollinators and attract wildlife in the Northern Neck, said Brennan. There is an emphasis on native plants.
The workshop is open to the public.
