The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold its annual Memorial Day Commemoration May 27 at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.
The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. and will continue with a formal observance at 11:30 a.m.
According to program coordinator retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Michael Schoelwer, the keynote speaker will be retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Anthony Crutchfield.
He is currently the vice president, army systems, defense space and security for Boeing Government Operations in Washington, D.C. Among other assignments in his military career, Lt. Gen. Crutchfield commanded the U.S. Army’s Aviation Branch, based at Fort Rucker, Ala.

The 30th annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. May 27 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 142 Old Bethel Road, Lively. If weather permits, the 40-minute ceremony will be held in the church cemetery.
“The Bethel-Emanuel United Methodist Men invite the public to take a few minutes on Memorial Day to honor those who have served and are currently serving to defend this country,” said Robert V. Smart.
A wreath will be placed to commemorate deceased veterans of the U.S. armed forces, said Smart.
