IRVINGTON—Mildred E. Christensen of Irvington, formerly of North Caldwell, New Jersey, passed away on March 19, 2018.

She was a devoted wife and an excellent mother who loved to dance, play golf and do New York Times crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Kurt Christensen and wife, Brenda; her daughter, Kathy Stevens and husband, Greg; her former daughter-in-law, Daveyne Totten; her grandsons, Rory Christensen and wife, Erika, and Matthew Stevens and wife, Katlyn.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Alan J. Christensen.

The youngest of five children, Mildred was the last survivor of the Sheets family of Schenectady, New York.

Mildred was a member of the Woman’s Club of White Stone, the Rappahannock River Yacht Club and volunteered in the library at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury.

Among her accomplishments were several 300 scores in her bowling league as well as a hole in one on the 5th hole at Greenbrook Country Club in North Caldwell, New Jersey. Her hobbies included playing bridge, bird watching and being a cheerleader for her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Neck Family YMCA or to the Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury Foundation.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
