From left, Morattico Waterfront Museum members Betty Barrack and Marie Jennings take a test golf cart drive to the site of Morattico Plantation in preparation for the museum’s April 28 opening day.

Guided golf cart tours of historic village sites will be a featured attraction at the Morattico Waterfront Museum’s seasonal opening day celebration, “Rides and Recollections,” from noon to 4 p.m. April 28.

Visitors also will have an opportunity to tour the museum at 6584 Morattico Road in Morattico and preview plans for the museum’s future Native Plant and Tidal Garden, reported Mary Byrd Martin. Admission for all activities is free.

A highlight of the golf cart tours will be a stop at the 1935 home built by L.C. Thrift on property originally occupied by Joseph Ball’s Morattico Plantation…
