New leadership team plans activities for Tavern Quilt Guild; show due Saturday

The Tavern Quilt Guild recently elected new officers for 2018.

Officers include president Ellen Hollows, first vice president-fundraising Wonda Allain, second vice president-programs Claire Lum Lee, recording secretary Sally Robinson, corresponding secretary Ginger Marshall and treasurer Shari Flinn. They have been planning exciting events for this quilting year, reported Linda Montross.

There will be a quilt show and sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, during the Heathsville Farmers Market at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. A tea party is planned for June 10, and Quilt Bingo will return in August, said Montross.

The Tavern Quilt Guild meets on first Tuesdays in the Transportation Museum Building on the Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern campus.  A social gathering begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 10 a.m., and “Show and Tell” during which members show their finished projects.

A light lunch is served, followed by the program which may be a workshop on a quilting technique or a speaker bringing a “trunk show” to the members.

All are welcome. For directions or guidance, call Montross at 580-2250.
