NMS poster winners to compete nationally

An adjunct to the United States Power Squadron’s (USPS) Kids Program is the National Youth Poster Contest. The 2017 and 20th Annual Youth Poster Contest theme was “Welcome to the Neighborhood!”

Last spring it was reported that two Northumberland Middle School student’s posters were selected as the best of all the posters rendered and forwarded to compete at the next level of competition, reported Northern Neck Sail and Power Squadron executive officer Ray Reuter.

Recently it was announced that those local first place winners, Corrie Minor in the 12-14 age group and Anna Pridgin of the 9-11 age group, were selected as first place winners in the USPS District 5 level competition, said Reuter. Their posters have now been forwarded to compete at the national level.
