KILMARNOCK—Both Democratic and Republican voters will head to the polls Tuesday, June 12, to choose their party’s candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.
Three candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination for House of Representatives in the First District. They are strategic planner Vangie A. Williams of King George, Army veteran and owner of Linden Tree Capital John B. Suddarth of Ashland, and former Marine Corps officer and engineer Edwin Santana of Stafford.
The winner of the primary will then face incumbent Republican Rep. Rob Wittman of Montross, who is running unopposed, in the November 6 election.
Incumbent Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine also is unopposed for reelection.
