RICHMOND—Randolph “Randy” Harrison Neal, 90, of Richmond died Monday, August 27, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas D. Neal III and Marie Payne Neal; a brother, General Thomas D. Neal IV; and infant daughter, Mary Randolph Neal.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lewis Neal; and his children, Ashby Neal Marcey (Tom) and Randolph Harrison Neal Jr.; grandchildren, Lauren and Owen Marcey, and Randy and Tommy Neal.

Randy was born July 1, 1928, in Richmond and is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and the University of Virginia where he earned his degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the Air National Guard, and on active duty with the United States Air Force.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the Richmond Cotillion, Country Club of Virginia, Society of Colonial Wars and Sons of the American Revolution.

He started his own company, Automated Business Services in 1969. He was a pioneer in Data Processing Service Bureaus in Richmond and surrounding areas. He retired in 1992 and moved with his wife to Reedville, where he enjoyed windsurfing and sailing with friends.

In Reedville, he was a member and volunteer at the Reedville Fisherman’s Museum, and member and president of the Northumberland Association for Progressive Stewardship (NAPS), president of the Fleeton Homeowners’ Association and served as junior and senior warden of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 14, at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Fleeton.
