Richard A. Hall

GLEN ALLEN—Richard Allen Hall of Glen Allen went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his father, retired Henrico County Fire Inspector Clarence H. Hall; and his brother, Dennis R. Hall.

He is survived by his fiancée and soul mate Lina Price; her two children, Dustin and Kaitlyn Ferrell; his mother, Ann Shelton of Weems; his uncle, Del “Soupy” Tomes and aunt, Mary; his cousin, Matthew Tomes; and his niece, Allison Hall.

Mr. Hall lived in Lakeside and Glen Allen his entire life and was a graduate of Hermitage High School. He went to work for Glen Allen Super Market when he was 15 years old, working there for 34 years.

In 2009 he found his true calling and went to work for Henrico County Public Schools driving a school bus. He enjoyed driving every day and took great pride in all aspects of his job. He led by example to his students and was very proud of them.

He had a deep respect and admiration for all first responding emergency service providers, so much so, he loved to join his mother as a volunteer at the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department Carnival every July.

After meeting his fiancée, she laughingly says he dragged her along also. He was loved and admired by many friends and family, and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral services were on Saturday, September 9, at Bennett Funeral Home, West Chapel. A graveside service was held on Monday, September 11, with a piper doing a fading at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue.

Donations may be made to Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department, or your local animal shelter.
