Pianist Rick Labate will present a sacred concert at 2 p.m. February 11 at the Kilmarnock Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 401 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.
Labate has been a pastor for 34 years but now serves as a ministerial director for pastors and churches.
Although a minister by vocation his avocation has always been as a concert pianist, reported Gary L. Jenkins.
Labate’s music accomplishments are several. Along with his producer, their achievements include winning four gospel music awards including Best Remake of a Hymn, the Worthy Award and Judges Favorite Album of the Year. Labate has also been a concert performer for the World Ministerial Association held in the RCA Dome (formerly the Hoosier Dome) in Indianapolis.
Labate has been a sought after pianist by many musicians and is also the co-host along with Kelly Mowrer, television personality and musician, of a series of webinars on worship titled, “Worship Matters,” said Jenkins.
He has recorded four CDs and one album of his own and has served as a studio pianist for several other gospel and country music artists.
This concert is free to the public.
