Seahorse athletes sign letters of intent

Christchurch School seniors Steven Stilianos and Jamar Darboe made their NCAA Division I commitments on December 20, signing their National Letters of Intent on the first day of the NCAA’s first-ever Early Signing Period.

Stilianos committed to Lafayette College in the Patriot League, and Darboe committed to Coastal Carolina University in the Sun Belt Conference, reported Jennifer Homer.

Both Stilianos and Darboe were four-year players for the Seahorses, leading the team to its VISAA Division II State Championship on November 18.

In post season recognition, Stilianos was named first team All-State defensive end and second team quarterback, and was selected as the VISAA State and VA Preps Player-of-the-Year. He is the son of Scott and Ruth Stilianos of Hayes.

Darboe, who fielded multiple Division I offers, was selected first team All-State as both running back and linebacker. He is the son of Eunice Flowers of Kinston, N.C.
