Several LHS juniors selected for Girls State

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 86 in Kilmarnock recently selected several girls from Lancaster High School to attend Girls State at Longwood College in Farmville June 17 through June 23.

The girls were chosen in an interview process by a committee of auxiliary members, reported Martha Mahica. The interviewing committee was very impressed with the caliber and qualifications of all the girls interviewed.

The girls selected were Rachel Valdrighi, Kaeli McGrath, Madison Davis, Rachel Clarke, Alexis Pacheco, Tezeta Fasil and Carter Mears Pollard. McKenzie Hathaway was selected as an alternate in the event one of the selected girls is unable to attend.
