HEATHSVILLE—Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons on May 30 announced the results of “Operation Northside Grind.”
The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) recently completed an extensive six-month investigation which led to charges against 37 people on 65 felonies and 17 misdemeanors—all drug-related charges indicted through a Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury and magistrate warrants, reported Sheriff Lyons.
The operation was conducted by his staff and members of the Chesapeake Bay Narcotics Task Force, he said. The task force is comprised of members of the NCSO, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation-Drug Enforcement Section.
The following people were charged:
• Delonte Montel Johnson, 25, Richmond County, possession with intent to distribute (PWID) cocaine, second offense, felony; PWID marijuana, felony; driving while suspended, misdemeanor.
• Brian Painter, 47, Lancaster, two counts of distribution of Schedule II pills, felony.
• Christian Birckett, 25, Callao, two counts of distribution of marijuana, felony.
