Sheriff’s Report

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Linwood M. Neale Jr., 28, of Richmond was charged December 21 with felony revocation of a suspended sentence and probation.

Shantel M. Riston, 25, of Windmill Point Road was charged December 22 with felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Clinton R. Chewning, 54, of Gaskins Road was charged December 27 with felonious assault.

Kevin O. Grimes, 50, of Woods Drive was charged December 28 with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm and assault and battery.

Misdemeanors

A White Marsh Lane man, 44, was charged December 18 with contempt of court

A School Street man, 28, was charged December 20 with disorderly conduct.

A Haynesville man, 18, was charged December 20 failing to appear for a traffic summons.

An Irvington Road woman, 40, was charged December 24 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Warsaw man, 47, was charged December 29 with unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Activity report

December 25: Staff responded to the 200 block of Tammy Drive for a disorderly person involving alcohol, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Jasmine Road for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 900 block of Griffins Landing Road for a domestic disturbance involving child custody issues, to Taylors Creek for a possible suicidal person, and to Mary Ball Road and Brent Court for a reckless driver.

December 26: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fitzhugh Street for trespassing to hunt, and to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance with threats to harm another.

December 27: Staff responded to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a trespasser, to the 1000 block of Windmill Point Road for a trespasser, to the 400 block of Woods Drive to assist Emergency Management Services (EMS) with entry into a residence, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road to assist EMS with an intoxicated patient, to Kamps Mill Road for an overturned four wheeler, to White Chapel Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a disorderly person.

December 28: Staff responded to River Bluff Road and Riverwind Court for a suspicious vehicle, to Morattico Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to Brent Court apartments for an assault.

December 29: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Beanes Road for theft of property, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a possible suicidal and wanted person, and to the 1700 block of Weems Road for a protective order violation.

December 30: Staff responded to the 1500 block of Coxs Farm Road to investigate the theft of two antique military style rifles.

Staff also conducted 37 traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted 10 motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated six building alarms, logged one inmate transport, received nine E911 hang-up calls, and fielded six calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge, separate brush fires on Ocran and Weems roads, and separate fire/smoke alarm calls on King Carter Drive and Windmill Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on White Chapel Road.

EMS calls

From December 17 through 30, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 76 calls for service including 49 medical emergencies, 14 injuries, two traffic accidents, five fire and six other calls.
