Sheriff’s Report 6-13-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A Lancaster man, 51, was charged June 3 with assault and battery of a family member, first offense.

A Lancaster man, 53, was charged June 4 with probation violation on a felony offense.

A Weems man, 49, was charged June 5 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

A White Stone man, 39, was charged June 8 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lancaster man, 29, was charged June 9 with burglary: entering a residence to commit larceny/assault and battery.

Activity report

June 3: Staff responded to the 4200 block of Irvington Road to check the welfare of a juvenile after receiving a report from a family member, to the 1700 block of Morattico Road for a domestic assault and vandalism, to the 20 block of Plainfield Drive for vandalism of a sign, and to the 100 block of Harris Drive to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with an unknown emergency in a parking area.

June 4: Staff responded to the 6600 block of River Road for a traffic crash (vehicle versus bicyclist), and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

June 5: Staff responded to the 100 block of New South Road for a prowler, to White Chapel Road for suspicious activity, to Corrotoman Drive for vehicles racing on the roadway, and to the intersection of Saint Andrews and Tartan Lane for a tree down blocking the highway.

June 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of Kellum Drive for a possible prowler, to River and Morattico roads for a tree down blocking the highway, to Lancaster Shores for a juvenile driving recklessly, to the 900 block of Flowering Fields for a suspicious person, to Lively for a person with mental issues threatening violence against others, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a vehicle headed toward Kilmarnock driving recklessly, and to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a sexual assault.

June 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Mockingbird Lane for a domestic disturbance, to Weems and Irvington roads for a minor traffic crash, to Wilson Lane for gun shots, to the 100 block of Greenwood Court for a domestic disturbance; and responded to the Lancaster area of Mary Ball Road for the report of a reckless driver.

June 8: Staff responded to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Lampkin Town Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle stop involving two vehicles after receiving a report of shots fired in the area, to the 100 block of Ice House Drive for the report of a domestic disturbance that involved threats to harm another, to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist KPD with the report of a fight in progress involving 6-8 people, to Ice House Drive for the report of a domestic disturbance, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for the report of a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Bar Neck Lane to check the welfare of the resident after receiving a report from a friend.

June 9: Staff responded to the 2100 block of Ocran Road for a burglary and grand larceny of U.S. currency, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace to check the welfare of the resident after receiving a report from a relative, to the 500 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a fight in progress involving a juvenile, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted eight traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on River Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to the smell of smoke in a residence on Chesapeake Drive.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For June 2-9, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 37 calls for service, including 23 medical emergencies, five injuries, two traffic accidents, a fire and six other calls.

Northumberland fire calls

For the week of June 3-10, the Callao VFD responded to two motor vehicle crashes, a fire alarm, a fire and a parade/standby request.

The Fairfields VFD responded to a fire alarm and two medical calls.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the week of June 3-10, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 28 calls, including 15 medical calls, seven trauma/fall calls, three motor vehicle crashes, a mutual aid call to another county, a fire alarm and a parade/standby request.
