Sheriff’s Report

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felonies

Jonte A. Towles, 22, of Merry Point Road was charged April 10 with four felony counts regarding the revocation of a suspended sentence and probation.

Madison N. Babe, 25, of Sandlin Drive was charged April 13 with felony revocation of a suspended sentence and probation.

Misdemeanors

A Blackstump Road man, 54, was charged April 13 with public intoxication and possession of marijuana.

Activity report

April 9: Staff responded to the 600 block of North Main Street for an open door at a business place.

April 10: Staff responded to the 800 block of Iberis Road for a mental patient in need of services, to the 100 block of Roseneath Avenue to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a hit and run with property damage, and to the 100 Block of Gill Road for the report of a mental patient.

April 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of James Lane to investigate the reported theft of a .357 caliber revolver handgun.

April 12: Staff responded to Chinn’s Mill for a reckless driver headed on Mary Ball Road from Richmond County, to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road to investigate the theft of a Hi Point .380 caliber semi-auto handgun, to the 300 block of Old Ferry Road for a hit and run that damaged two vehicles, to the 5200 block of Morattico Road for a prowler, and to the 2000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

April 13: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a drunk driver, to the 100 block of Peake Road to investigate the reported theft of medication, to the 200 block of Greenwood Court for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for a disorderly intoxicated person, to the 100 block of Dogwood Road for weapons being discharged, and to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for a missing golf cart.

April 14: Staff responded to the 700 block of River Road for an unruly juvenile, to the 3100 block of Lara Road for a domestic assault and vandalism, to the 100 block of Chownings Ferry Road for a trespasser, to Lampkin Town Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a large fight in progress and with weapons discharged, to the 900 block of Nuttsville Road for a person with a shotgun who threatened to kill four juveniles, to the 100 block of Waverly Avenue to assist KPD with a disorderly person involving intoxication, and to the 100 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a fight in progress involving alcohol.

April 15: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for the reported theft of a vehicle license plate, and to Fleets Bay and Mary Ball roads for a suspicious person sitting in the median of the highway.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted four motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged nine inmate transports, received 10 E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD) responded to separate lift assistance requests on Hickory Road and Kennedy Avenue, as well as a camper fire on River Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded with Upper LVFD to a lawn mower fire on Turkey Run Lane. Kilmarnock VFD also responded to separate brush fires at Lumber Lost and Taylors Creek roads and on Carlson Road.

The White Stone VFD assisted on an EMS call on Clark Point Road.

EMS calls

For the week of April 8 through 14, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 49 calls for service including 26 medical emergencies, six injuries, four fires and 13 other calls.
