Sheriffs’ Reports 2-14-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felony

Davuan Rhidel Wright, 32, of Lancaster was charged February 6 with malicious wounding.

Misdemeanors

Jerrick Deion Sanders, 26, of Lancaster was charged February 6 with driving while license suspended or revoked.

Ricky Avon Gibson Jr., 23, of Kilmarnock was charged February 9 with failure to appear on an underlying charge.

Linda Michelle Smith, 31, of Heathsville was charged February 10 with two counts of destruction of property and appearing intoxicated in public.

Brian Oneil Lockley, 49, of White Stone was charged February 10 with driving while revoked or suspended, having been convicted previously two or more times in a 10-year period.

Activity report

February 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Spring Street for suspicious activity, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle crash on private property, to the 1100 block of Irvington Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris causing a traffic hazard, to Oak Hill Road for speeders, to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for an unruly juvenile, to the 1400 block of Merry Point Road to investigate a reported death, and to the 300 block of Avonne Street for a possible suicidal person.

February 5: Staff responded to Colinbrook Way for an abandoned vehicle, to Pinckardsville Road for debris causing a traffic hazard, to the 300 block of Spring Hill Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 3500 block of Weems Road for threats to do harm to another, to a walk-in report of obtaining money by false pretenses and identity fraud, to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a fight in progress, to the 500 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Harris Road for a domestic assault with injuries.

February 6: Staff responded to the 8500 block of Mary Ball Road for threats made toward another.

February 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Landing Drive to check the welfare of an elderly person after receiving a report from friends that he hadn’t answered his phone in weeks, to the 400 block of Gilbert Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance and destruction of property, and to the 100 block of Harris Road to assist KPD with gunshots heard in the area.

February 8: Staff responded to the 900 block of Ditchley Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a juvenile with a knife threatening suicide, to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a person with mental issues, to the Norris Bridge for debris causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a traffic stop and the recovery of a gun, to the 200 block of Sandlin Drive for the report of threats made toward another, to the 200 block of Taylors Creek Road for a possible burglary, and to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for destruction of property.

February 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for an assault, to the 600 block of Browns Stone Road to assist NCSO with a fight in progress, to the 1400 block of Lumberlost Road for a possible burglary, to the 500 block of Poplar Neck Road for a trespasser, to the 5800 block of Irvington Road for unsafe hunting and illegal possession of a firearm, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of Eubank Drive to assist KPD with a missing dementia patient, to the 100 block of Yorkshire Street for the report of threats made to harm another, to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a fight in progress, and to the 1100 block of Carlson Road for a trespasser.

February 10: Staff responded to the 900 block of Beanes Road for a domestic disturbance with a weapon, to the 100 block of Harris Road for a traffic crash, to the 800 block of West Point Road for trespassing to hunt, and to Christ Church Road for the report of a single-vehicle traffic crash.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled seven calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged four inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate traffic crashes on Irvington Road and Main Street, a heavy equipment fire on Pinckardsville Road and a brush fire on Chases Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Spring Hill Road, a request for landing zone on BayView Road and with the Kilmarnock VFD to a possible structure fire on Levelfield Lane.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Christ Church Road.

EMS calls

For February 3-9, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 52 calls for service, including 28 medical emergencies, nine injuries, five traffic accidents, a fire call and nine other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 52, was charged February 2 with two counts of animal cruelty/deprivation.

A Lancaster woman, 54, was charged February 2 with two counts of animal cruelty/deprivation.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged February 2 with two counts of animal cruelty/deprivation. These were Northumberland County warrants served by VSP.

A Heathsville woman, 36, was charged February 4 with two counts of shoplifting from the Subway in Heathsville.

A Reedville man, 41, was charged February 6 with a bad check. This was a Lancaster County warrant served by NCSO.

A Reedville man, 62, was charged February 7 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on an original charge of shoplifting/concealing goods less than $200.

A Reedville woman, 60, was charged February 7 with three misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. She also received three summonses for failing to vaccinate and failing to purchase tags. Two summonses were issued for two animals running at large in a specific subdivision.

A Burgess man, 32, was charged February 7 with petit larceny, first offense, for stealing crab meat from the Callao Supermarket.

A Heathsville woman, 19, was charged February 7 with petit larceny, first offense.

A Port Royal woman, 33, was charged February 10 with damaging property. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville woman, 31, was charged February 10 with two counts of damaging property and a summons for being drunk in public. These were Northumberland County warrants and served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

A Lottsburg man, 29, was charged February 10 with driving under the influence, first offense. He also was charged with driving without a license, second offense and speeding.

A Heathsville man, 25, was charged February 10 with a capias/attachment of the body from the Suffolk General District Court for failing to appear. He also was charged with assault and battery in Northumberland County.
