Sheriffs’ Reports

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felonies

Maria F. Thompson, 35, of Greentown Road was charged May 28 with felony grand larceny, driving with a revoked license and eluding law enforcement after giving a signal to stop. Thompson also was charged with two counts of felony assault on a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.

Misdemeanors

A Christ Church Road man, 44, was charged June 1 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Regina Road woman, 67, was charged June 3 with appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.

Activity report

May 28: Staff responded to the 200 block of Newtown Road for a domestic disturbance possibly involving weapons, to Sandlin and Rappahannock drives for an OnStar alert reporting a possible emergency, and to the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a stolen Glock 9mm handgun.

May 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chesapeake Drive for a death incident, to Mary Ball Road for a traffic crash, to the 100 block of Turner Lane to assist Social Services with a welfare check, and to the 700 block of Slabtown Road for the unsafe use of a weapon.

May 30: Staff responded to the 400 block of Greentown Road to check the medical welfare of a patient after being contacted by a hospital, to a walk-in report of trespassers in the Merry Point area, and to the 500 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a traffic hazard from a downed tree.

May 31: Staff responded to the 300 block of Akins Lane for a boating vessel in distress, and to the 2200 block of Morattico Road for trespassers in a condemned house.

June 1: Staff responded to the 2200 block of Morattico Road for the report of a civil matter concerning rental property, and to the 100 block of Washington Street for the report of a domestic assault with a weapon.

June 2: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 4400 block of Windmill Point Road for vandalism of landscaping, to the 700 block of Crawfords Corner Road for larceny of a leaf blower (leaf blower was recovered during initial report), to Lively for motorcycles driving recklessly, to the 300 block of Peake Road for a downed tree in the highway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 100 block of Heron Cove Lane to assist emergency management services make entry into a home for a medical patient.

June 3: Staff responded to 400 Woods Drive for the report of a tree down in the highway causing a traffic hazard, to the 6700 block of Mary Ball Road to recover found property reported by complainant, to the 100 block of Fox Tail for trespassers, and to the 700 block of Regina Road for the report of a possible suicidal person.

Staff also conducted 12 traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled eight calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received ten E911 hang-up calls, and fielded five calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a roadway wash down on Bluff Point Road and with the Upper Lancaster VFD to a structure fire on West Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a woods fire on Corrotoman Drive and a tree on a power line on Old Orchard Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Clark Point Drive, a tree on a power line on James Wharf Road, possible propane leaks on Spring Street and Rappahannock Drive, and three downed trees on Mosquito Point Road.

EMS calls

For the week of May 27 through June 2, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 43 calls for service including 23 medical emergencies, nine injuries, three fires and eight other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 18 individuals.

Felonies

Elston Ricardo Haley, 59, of Heathsville was charged May 21 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/possessing with the intent to distribute a Schedule II drug, second offense. Haley was arrested by the Warsaw Police Department.

Barbara Bullock Johns, 75, of Heathsville was charged May 21 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/possessing with the intent to distribute a Schedule II drug, 3rd offense. Johns was arrested by the Warsaw Police Department.

Lacey Renea Edwards Michalak, 27, of Warsaw was charged May 23 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/distribution of a Schedule III drug and felony child abuse/neglect. She also was charged in Westmoreland County with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving suspended.

Delonte Montel Johnson, 25, of Farnham was charged May 24 with possession with intent to sell or distribute more than a ½ ounce but less than 5 pounds. He was also charged with selling/distribution of a controlled substance, namely a Schedule II drug, and driving suspended. These were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Jared Renton, 29, of Heathsville was charged May 27 with felony property damage.

Nathaniel Jerroll Turner, 37, of Hague was charged May 28 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/possessing with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug, second offense. This arrest was conducted by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Orin P. Lee, 29, of Reedville was charged May 29 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with selling/distribution of a Schedule I or II drug. He also was charged with two counts of selling/distribution of a Schedule II drug for profit. Also at this time, a capias/attachment of the body was served from the Northumberland Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear in that court. There were two capias/attachments of the body served from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in that court. A capias to show cause also was issued for failing to appear and one for revoking his bond. Northumberland County also served a misdemeanor warrant from Lancaster County for escaping custody.

Sean Douglas Thompson, 44, no address reported, was charged May 29 with rape by force or intimidation.

Stacey Lee Reynolds, 59, of Heathsville was charged May 31, on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with three counts of possession/with intent to distribute a controlled substance, namely a Schedule II drug. He also was charged with selling/distribution of a controlled substance, namely a Schedule II drug. A misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana without a valid prescription also was part of the indictment.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 33, was charged May 24 with drunk in public.

A Heathsville man, 27, was charged May 25 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with two counts of selling/distribution of ½ ounce or less of marijuana. This arrest was conducted by the Virginia State Police.

A Wicomico Church man, 36, was charged May 26 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license. He was also charged with impeding traffic and refusal of the breath test.

A Callao man, 47, was charged May 28 on a capias/attachment of the body with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court. This arrest was conducted by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

A Colonial Beach man, 32, was charged May 28 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, failing to give a signal, failing to wear a seat belt and driving with an open container.

A Reedville woman, 60, was charged May 28 with four counts of shoplifting from the Dollar General Store.

A Burgess woman, 54, was charged May 31 with assault and battery.

A Yorktown woman, 28, was charged June 2 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense. She also was charged with an open container and switching lanes unsafely.

A Reedville man, 34, was charged June 2 with driving under the influence of alcohol, and failing to drive on the right side of the road.
