Sheriffs’ Reports 4-04-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Kevin Daniel Radford, 43, of Richmond was charged March 26 with abduction-deprive a person of their personal liberty, obstruct/prevent the use of a telephone to summons law enforcement, reckless driving and two counts of violating pretrial services.

James Arthur Balderson, 42, Lancaster was charged March 27 with strangulation resulting in bodily injury, brandishing a firearm and assault.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 21, was charged March 28 with failure to appear in court.

A Lancaster man, 38, was charged March 29 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Lancaster man, 57, was charged March 30 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lancaster man, 34, was charged March 31 with use of a telephone to annoy another, destruction of property and trespassing.

A Heathsville woman, 31, was charged March 31 with assault and battery of a family member and resisting arrest by threats or force.

A Weems man, 49, was charged March 31 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

March 25: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, and to the 5400 block of Irvington Road for an overdue vehicle.

March 26: Staff responded to the 100 block of School Street for a sexual assault involving minors, to the 1200 block of Iberis Road for an assault, to the 500 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for an assault, and to the 400 block of West Point Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol.

March 27: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Morattico Road for a possible fight in progress, to the 1100 block of Carlson Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 100 block of Norwood Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with property damage and disorderly conduct.

March 28: Staff responded to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for vandalism to a mailbox, and to the 500 block of South Main Street to assist KPD with a person with mental issues.

March 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for a possible missing person, and to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a domestic assault.

March 30: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Windmill Point Road for a mental subject and destruction of property, to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for violation of a protective order, to the 10600 block of Mary Ball Road for a one-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree with injuries, and to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for a trespasser.

March 31: Staff responded to Merry Point and Buzzard Neck roads for a dirt bike being ridden on the public highway, to the 1100 block of Regina Road for gun shots in the area, to the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic assault, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 800 block of Johns Neck Road for a domestic assault.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted 13 motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received seven E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department assisted Middlesex with a barn fire on Race Track Road and rescued a dog on Taft Beach Road.

Kilmarnock VFD assisted Northumberland with a chimney fire on Mila Road and responded to a controlled burn on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and an electrical fire on Lloyd Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Robert James Ball, 70, of Callao was charged March 25 with a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for distribution/sale for profit a Schedule I or II drug. He was served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Isac Odell Lewis, 55, of Hague was charged March 25 with a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of distribution/sale for profit a Schedule I or II drug. He was served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 26, was charged March 27 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Burgess man, 35, was charged March 28 with assault and battery of a family member, obstruction of communication through a wireless device to prevent calling for help and damaging property. He also was charged with obstruction of justice.

A Lottsburg man, 56, was charged March 29 with five summonses for failing to purchase licenses for his dogs and/or cats. He also was charged with five summonses for failing to vaccinate his animals.

A Kinsale man, 65, was charged March 30 with driving under the influence, first offense.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged March 31 with threatening an illegal or immoral act over the phone. This was a Richmond County warrant served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
