Sheriffs’ Reports 7-11-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against two individuals.

Felony

Vinna Okot, 23, of Nashville, Tenn. was charged July 3 with grand larceny: larceny of more than $500, forging a check to the prejudice of another and utter or attempt to employ a check knowing it to be forged.

Misdemeanor

A White Stone male, 39, was charged July 2 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Activity report

July 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of Henry’s Creek Lane to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a domestic disturbance involving a weapon, to the 100 block of Lively Oaks Road to assist emergency management services (EMS) with a combative person suffering from a drug withdrawal, to a walk-in report of the theft of credit and identification cards, to the 100 block of Woodbrook Drive for a suspicious person, and to the 300 block of High Bank Road for the vandalism of a pier.

July 2: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an abduction of a family member—a false report by the supposed victim, and to Pinckardsville and Mary Ball roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

July 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a possible burglary, and to the 2200 block of Black Stump Road to assist EMS with an ATV accident on private property.

July 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Sunfish Drive for a boat possibly in distress, to the 300 block of Dawson Lane for a civil issue involving a vehicle, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic assault, to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a two-vehicle crash on private property, to the 400 block of Old Orchard Road for vandalism, and to the 100 block of Abby Way for a domestic disturbance and threats to harm another.

July 5: Staff responded to a walk-in report of vandalism of a vehicle on River Road, to the 100 block of Brent Court for child neglect or abuse, and to the 5400 block of Mary Ball Road to assist EMS with a combative patient.

July 6: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance involving a firearm, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a suicidal person, and to the 1000 block of Goodluck Road for a domestic disturbance.

July 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Third Avenue to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 2300 block of Black Stump Road for a verbal dispute involving juveniles.

Staff also conducted 29 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated 10 building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 15 E911 hang-up calls and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Nugent Lane.

The White Stone VFD responded to a utility pole fire on Chesapeake Drive and a stove fire on Sandpiper Lane.

Lancaster EMS calls

For June 30-July 6, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 39 calls for service, including 18 medical emergencies, 11 injuries, two traffic accidents, a fire and seven other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felony

Christopher O’Neal Crockett, 48, of Heathsville was charged June 30 with strangulation causing injury and assault and battery.

Misdemeanors

An Urbanna man, 35, was charged June 27 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to obey a court order of peace and good behavior.

A Reedville man, 41, was charged June 28 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Middlesex County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged June 29 with a capias to show cause for failing to obey pre-trial supervision and tested positive for his drug screening.

A Heathsville man, 26, was charged July 1 with driving while under the influence and possession of marijuana.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged July 2 with violating a protective order, second in five years.

A Burgess man, 40, was charged July 5 with damaging property.

A Kilmarnock woman, 58, was charged July 6 with driving under the influence, first offense.

A Heathsville man, 37, was charged July 7 with computer fraud and identity theft. These were Richmond County warrants served by the NCSO.

Northumberland fire calls

For the week of July 1-7, the Callao VFD responded to a parade, a controlled burn and a medical call.

The Fairfields VFD responded to a parade and two motor vehicle crashes.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the week of July 1-7, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 44 calls, including 28 medical calls, 14 trauma/fall calls and two parades.
