Sheriffs’ Reports 7-18-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie will host coffee with a cop at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Front Porch Coffeehouse, 139 South Main Street, Kilmarnock. Members of the public are urged to meet local law enforcement representatives.

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Christopher Michael Carnes, 38, of Lancaster was charged July 14 with forgery of any writing to the prejudice of another’s rights, utter or attempt to employ as true a forged writing, computer forgery, grand larceny and failure to report to jail.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster female, 26, was charged July 8 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Saluda man, 35, was charged July 9 with reckless driving and failure to fix defects after a state safety inspection.

A Lancaster man, 29 was charged July 9 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense.

Activity report

July 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Berrywood Lane for a missing adult, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for juvenile behavioral issues, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of a possible overturned boat, to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of disorderly person, and to the 200 block of Chesapeake Drive to check the welfare of a person with mental issues.

July 9: Staff responded to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a fight in progress involving weapons, and to the 200 block of Shady Lane for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

July 10: Staff responded to the 300 block of Meyers Drive for damage of private property, to the 100 block of Bayview Lane for a missing person, to the Marina Road area for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to Goodluck Road for a distress beacon that had been activated.

July 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for an activated medical alarm, to Norris Bridge for the report of a possible downed plane in the Rappahannock River, to the 1500 block of Cox’s Farm Road for two downed trees in the roadway, and to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance.

July 12: Staff responded to the 200 block of Lowery Creek Road for the report of a possible burglary, to Merry Point and West Point roads for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 100 block of Moccasin Trail for a possible scam, to the 300 block of Woods Drive for a stolen check, to Marina Road for trespassers, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for threats made to harm another, and to the 300 block of Campbell Road for a noise violation from loud music.

July 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Washington Street for an assault with injuries, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 3000 block of Regina Road for a verbal disagreement, to Mary Ball and White Chapel roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 8500 block of River Road for a downed tree on the powerlines in the roadway.

July 14: Staff responded to the 600 block of Lumberlost Road for the report of loud music in the area, to the 100 block of Whaley Way for possible trespassers, to the 200 block of Pocahontas Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a dispute between neighbors, to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for trespassers, to the 6000 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 500 block of Boys Camp Road for damage of a vehicle.

Staff also conducted 31 traffic stops, issued 26 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled three requests for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls and fielded seven calls for animal control service.

Lancaster fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to two separate traffic crashes and fire/smoke alarm on North Main Street.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a brush fire on Iberis Road, two separate traffic crashes on Mary Ball Road and a tree on the powerline on River Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For July 7-13, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 44 calls for service, including 17 medical emergencies, seven injuries, five traffic accidents, two fires and 13 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Hector Antonio Larios Jr. (no address given) was charged July 10 with grand larceny.

Welford Danta Bromley, 40, of Heathsville was charged July 14 with object sexual penetration, threatening an illegal or immoral act and violation of a protective order.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 20, was charged July 11 with purchasing alcohol under age. This was a Northumberland charge, served by the game warden.

A Callao woman, 35, was charged July 12 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on an original charge of assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville woman, 64, was charged July 12 with being drunk in public.

A Reedville man, 37, was charged July 14 with hit and run and damaging property.

Northumberland fire calls

For the week of July 8-15, the Callao VFD responded to a motor vehicle crash and a gas leak.

Northumberland EMS calls

For the week of July 8-15, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 27 calls, including 19 medical calls, seven trauma/fall calls and a motor vehicle crash.
