Summer Music Nights will continue at 7 p.m. August 18 at White Stone United Methodist Church, 118 Methodist Church Road, White Stone. The duo Spencer & Beane will be featured.
Matthew Spencer and Mei-Li Garcia Beane have a gift for connecting music through the ages, bringing new life to traditional melodies and spirit to new creations.
Their repertoire ranges from Gregorian Chant and Vivaldi to modern composers. They artfully combine the timbers of the violin, guitar, tin whistle, voice and viola in original arrangements that surprise the ear and thrill the mind. They have two CDs to their credit.
This performance will include Scottish and Irish traditional songs like: “The Gift of Love”, “The Last Rose of Summer” as well as Bach, Pachebel and Vivaldi arrangements.
Donations are encouraged and go to the musicians to offset their expenses. The church provides snacks and beverages.
