The Jeff Little Trio to perform at Rappahannock High School

The Rappahannock Concert Association will present The Jeff Little Trio at 7:30 p.m. October 21 at the Rappahannock High School Theater, 6914 Richmond Road, Warsaw.

With few exceptions, the piano does not play a prominent part in Appalachian or Americana music and is rarely the lead instrument. But Jeff Little is an exception—and a remarkable one, reported publicity chairman Nellie Landrum. His distinctive two-handed style, much influenced by the mountain flat-picked guitar tradition, is breathtaking in its speed, precision and clarity. In 2014, Little was inducted into the Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame.

Steve Lewis, award-winning guitar and banjo player from Todd, N.C., is one of the most respected acoustic musicians in the country. He is well-known for his flat picking on guitar and his mastery of the five string banjo.

Rounding out the trio is the upright bass master, Josh Scott, from Fleetwood, N.C.  Scott has been featured on stage and in the studio with many critically acclaimed artists of acoustic and Americana music.

The Jeff Little Trio travels the country performing concerts with an energy and dedication to their music that is evident at every show, said Landrum. Jeff Little has also taken his traditional piano style around the world on U.S. government goodwill tours.

Adult tickets are $25 each. Students are admitted free. Purchase tickets at rappahannockconcerts.org, or call 866-217-8149.
