Unhealed History seminar slated October 21 in Burgess

In partnership, Bay Center for Spiritual Development and Interracial Conversations Group of Northumberland will host Unhealed History from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. October 21 at Shiloh Baptist Church Help Center, Burgess.

The Rev. Benjamin P. Campbell and Elnora Allen will explore how “unhealed racial history” manifests itself in personal and cultural lives. Lunch will be served and techniques in “healing history” will be shared. It promises to be a day of deep learning and community building, said director Carol Burke.

Rev. Campbell is the author of Richmond’s Unhealed History, published in 2012. This history book examines the contradictions and crises that have formed the city of Richmond over more then four decades.
