Camp Jam

Camp Jam will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, November 24, at Camp Kekoka, 1083 Boys Camp Road, Kilmarnock. Hosts urge folks to bring a friend, family, dish to share and a donation.

Music will be offered by Carolyn and Mike August, Deadrise, Christine Whitaker Wiggins & the Menagerie, Robert Beierly and Mary & The Janes.

Rock the Holidays

The Original Rhondels will present Rock the Holidays December 8 at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck Activities Center, 517 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Doors will open at 7 p.m. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 if purchased through Friday, November 23, or $20. A table for eight can be reserved for $174 through November 23, or $190. Tickets should be purchased online before December 6 at bgcnn.com. Tickets also may be purchased at 435-9696, or the office from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Beer and wine will be available for purchase along with a limited snack menu.

Chorale concerts

The Chesapeake Chorale Christmas concerts will be presented at 8 p.m. November 30 at the Performing Arts Theater, Northumberland High School, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville, and December 1 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock. The series will conclude with a 3 p.m. performance December 2 at the St. Clare Walker Middle School Auditorium, 6814 General Puller Highway, Locust Hill.

Tickets are $10, and are available at the Bank of Lancaster in Kilmarnock and White Stone; as well as Chesapeake Bank, Sonabank, Union Bank and Heads-up Hairworks in Kilmarnock, and at Country Cottage in White Stone. Tickets also are available from chorale members and will be available at the door of each concert venue.

CASA wreaths

The Fraser fir wreaths that have been ordered from Northern Neck CASA will be available for pick up from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, November 29, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, at the Courtyard at Chesapeake Commons, 463 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.

Community tree

Wicomico United Methodist Church will sponsor a Community Tree Lighting Service at 7 p.m. December 1.

Tommy Thompson will sing Christmas music to ring in the season. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the program.

Golden Village

Golden Village Christmas will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. December 1 at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. There will be carolers, hot cider, artisan-crafted gifts, bake sale, greenery, produce, a children’s shopping area and Santa.

Oysters & Oldies

The 12th annual Oysters & Oldies Christmas Oyster Roast will be held from 12:30-3:30 p.m. December 1 at Roanoke Farm, 6108 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

Tickets are $30, ages 11 and younger eat free. Tickets may be purchased at St. Stephen’s Thrift Shop, 6853 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, or oysters.ststephensheathsville.org.

Community Chorus

The Community Chorus will present “The Night Before Christmas” December 2 at Warsaw Baptist Church, 226 Main Street, Warsaw, and December 9 at Tappahannock Memorial United Methodist Church, 345 Earl Street, Tappahannock.

Both concerts will begin at 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Master Gardener

orientation session

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners will hold an orientation from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. December 5, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

The session will provide an overview of the 2019 Extension Master Gardener training program, January 15 through March 26. To reserve a spot for the training program, call the Virginia Cooperative Extension office in Northumberland, 580-5694.

Winter Wonderland

The town of White Stone will ring in the holiday season with its annual Winter Wonderland Celebration from 4-7 p.m. December 8. There will be caroling, good cheer, food, hot drinks, tree lighting and photos with Santa, who will arrive with a police and fire escort around 5:30 p.m.

Tree lighting

Reedville’s community Christmas tree will be illuminated at 5:15 p.m. December 8 at the gazebo on the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum campus, 504 Main Street, Reedville.

The event will include hot chocolate and joyous singing led by the Fairfield UMC and the Bethany UMC choirs.

Christmas bazaar

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum annual Christmas bazaar will be held from 1-5 p.m. December 7 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. December 8 at American Legion Post 117 facilities at 39 School Street, Reedville.

Mistletoe & Mimosas

Mistletoe & Mimosas, a brunch and fashion show to benefit the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. December 7 at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville.

Tickets may be purchased at Dream’s Fashion Boutique, 702 Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, Burgess. Tickets are $30 per person; combination brunch and “Christmas on Cockrell’s Creek” house tour tickets are $50. Mistletoe and Mimosas and the combo tickets will be sold only at Dream’s.
