Country breakfast

Lancaster Union Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. will serve an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. on second Saturdays at the Lodge, 48 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The next breakfast will be April 14.

The fee is $10. Ages 5 and younger, uniformed military and law enforcement eat free.

Slide lecture

The Tappahannock Art Gallery, 200 Prince Street, Tappahannock, will host “The American Impressionist – William Merrit Chase” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22.

The instructor will be Aaron Bowles. The fee will be $6. Light refreshments will be served.

Egg hunt

The Rappahannock Community College/Richmond County Public Library will host its annual Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, on the Warsaw Campus, 52 Campus Drive, Warsaw. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance and the library staff will give away free children’s books, courtesy of the Friends of the Library group.

Guests may enjoy hot dogs and snacks in the student lounge and a program with magician/juggler Jonathan Austin at noon. The event is free and open to the public.

Gardening seminar

The Gardening in the Northern Neck Seminar, sponsored by Northern Neck Master Gardeners and Virginia Cooperative Extension, will be held Saturday, March 24, at the White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone.

Original Rhondels

The Original Rhondels will present a benefit concert Saturday, March 24, at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck Activities Center, 517 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the performance will follow from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 each and must be purchased in advance at www.bgcnn.com. Beer and wine will be available for purchase along with a limited snack menu.

Belle Isle egg hunt

The Friends of Belle Isle State Park will host an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. March 31 in the picnic area, Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster.

There will be 3,000 eggs, golden egg prizes and the Easter Bunny.

Community Day

The Derrick B. Spencer Memorial Fund will host a Community Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 31 at 371 Buzzards Neck Road, Lancaster.

The event will include an egg hunt, bounce house, face painting, games, cotton candy, popcorn, snowcones, prizes, music, fish fry and chicken dinners. The dinners are $12. Pre-order chicken dinners at 757-726-3038, or 540-229-2590 and pay at cash app $derrickanddesire.

On Stage

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2017-18 On Stage series will present Sons of Serendip at 7:30 p.m. April 14 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.

Admission is by season subscription, or $39 in advance at 438-5555, or visit rappahannockfoundation.org. If available, tickets at the door will be $45.

KIWS Rotary

Kilmarnock Irvington and White Stone Rotary Club will hold two evening meetings a month at the Rivah Auction House, 33 Irvington Road, Kilmarnock.

Meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on second and fourth Wednesdays. Lunch meetings will continue at noon on first and third Wednesdays at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury, 132 Lancaster Drive, Irvington. To join, call 436-3176, or 435-6092.

Fiber guild

The Five River Fiber Guild will meet at 10 a.m. April 9 at Wicomico Parish Church, 5191 Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, Wicomico Church.

The program, organized by Shirley Galo and Sali Widener, will be on art quilts. A kit will be provided with a fish or butterfly pattern and members are urged to bring ribbons, buttons, fabric scraps and beads to add to the design.

Indoor yard sale

An indoor yard sale to benefit the Northumberland County Animal Shelter is held regularly at the Northumberland School Administration Building, 2172 Northumberland Highway, Lottsburg.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. second and fourth Saturdays.

Kinsale egg hunt

Kinsale’s Easter Saturday Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. March 31. Families are urged to arrive at the Cople District Volunteer Fire Department, 123 Yeocomico Lane, Kinsale, by 1:45 p.m.

At 2 p.m. sharp, kids will burst out of the firehouse and into the park in search of Easter bounty.

Veterans’ breakfast

Commonwealth Senior Living at Farnham, 511 Cedar Grove Road, Farnham, hosts a Veterans’ Breakfast at 9 a.m. on second Tuesdays. The next breakfast will be April 10. Participants are urged to RSVP at 394-2102.

Bluegrass festival

The 2018 Mount Airy Bluegrass Festival will be held June 30 at Mount Airy Farm, 361 Millpond Road, Warsaw. The event, beginning at 3 p.m., will feature the Water View Bluegrass Assembly, The Trailblazers with Ivy Phillips, Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys and The Seldom Scene.

Adult general admission tickets are $45 each, youth general admission tickets are $25 each and VIP tickets are $65 each. The VIP tickets include reserved seating closer to the stage and VIP parking. Tickets are available at www.mountairy.farm, or 313-0815.

Art and wine

The Arts & Wine Festival at Locust Grove will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 19 at Locust Grove, 590 Locust Grove Lane, Walkerton. The event will feature artists, craftsmen, wineries, food, music, horse and carriage rides, a children’s activity area and a silent auction to benefit the Mattaponi Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. A non-tasting ticket is available for $5 and ages 12 and younger will be admitted at no charge.
