LANCASTER—Violet Stout Carlson, 76 , of Lancaster went to be with her late husband, Mitchell Tyler Carlson Jr. on March 31, 2018.

She was born on June 29, 1941, in Butler, Tenn., the daughter of the late Ercel and Leona Stout.

Vi was retired from the Lancaster County Treasurer’s Office. For many years, she was a very active and devoted member of the Kilmarnock Rescue Squad serving as a past president and in many other capacities. Vi along with her husband were partners with the Tri-Star Supermarket.

Surviving are three daughters, Karen Walker (Ray), Michelle Lewis (Richard) and Elizabeth Kellum; six grandchildren, Christina Otruba, Michael Painter, Jessica Dennis, Sherry Rogers, Jason Verlander and Will Kellum; eight great-grandchildren, Caroline, Connor, Abby, Matthew, Elizabeth, Emily, Liam, Kaleb and Pierce; sisters, Dimple Huddleston, Joyce Banton and Janet Bain; and brothers, Paul “Pete” Stout and Carl “Buck” Stout.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Stout.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment followed in Morattico Baptist Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock. Rev. Tommy Armstrong officiated. Friends called one hour prior to the service.
