Emily Dickinson, American poet whose life and poetry continue to interest and entertain, will be celebrated February 1 at the Woman’s Club of White Stone.
Guest artist Mary Wadkins, who has toured in the one woman show about Dickinson, “The Belle of Amherst,” will enact pieces from that play, reported Ginger Philbrick.
Wadkins is a professional actress and dancer who has performed extensively on stages in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In the latter city, her work was nominated twice for Outstanding Performance of the Year.
Wadkins now lives in White Stone.
The Woman’s Club invites the public to attend the free performance, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the WCWS Clubhouse, 560 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.
Bring a sandwich, and the club will provide beverages and dessert.
