Isabella Gibbons, who was born enslaved in the 1830s and became a noted educator for free people in Charlottesville after the Civil War, is one of eight women profiled in the Virginia Women in History exhibition at Historic Christ Church & Museum.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays in March. April hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
