Northern Neck Family YMCA senior operations director Liz Allen recently announced the following activities.

Swim camp

Led by Mark Favazza and Masters swim team coach Craig Bauer, swim camp will focus on improving swimming skills, stroke technique and endurance. The camp is separated into three levels.

Advanced camp for ages 8 and older will be from 9 a.m. to noon August 4, 11 and 18. Participants must be able to freestyle swim 100 yards without assistance to participate in this session. The fee is $36 members and $54 others.

Intermediate camp is for ages 6-8 and is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to noon August 4, 11 and 18. Participants must be able to freestyle swim 25 yards without assistance to participate in this session. The fee is $24 for members and $36 others.

Beginner camp is for ages 5-8 and is set for noon to 1 p.m. August 4, 11 and 18. This is a stroke improvement class. The fee is $18 for members and $32 for others.

Flag football camp

Flag football camp will be offered August 6 to 30. Ages 4-8 can learn the game of football. The focus will be on skill position development and learning to catch the football.

The 4-5 year-old division will practice from 5:15 to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at Lancaster Primary School. The 6-8 division will follow from 6 to 7 p.m.
