Kathleen Litos, ERYT-500, recently joined Northern Neck Family YMCA as a yoga instructor. She became a yoga instructor in 2008, teaching at studios and offering private lessons in Richmond.

Her goal is to inform, inspire, and explain the yoga asanas, pranayama and yogic principles.

She and her husband, Michael, with their daughter, Olive, in October 2016 moved to the Northern Neck to live on the water. They have acclimated well to the slower pace and enjoy discovering their new surroundings by car or by kayak. Their French bull/pug mix dog, Hammy, frequently takes field trips with them. And while she enjoys the outdoors, Kathleen loves to cook healthy and flavorful dishes.

She also leads annual yoga retreats, and is the proprietor of Bharata Yoga, a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance, where she leads yoga students through detailed class schedule to become registered yoga instructors.

Kathleen’s class plans and routines maximize each student’s mental and physical benefits, using postures and conscious breathing in combination with mental focus to develop awareness, strength and flexibility, and relaxation.

Her class meets at 9:15 a.m. This class is free to members, or $10.

To register, visit the Northern Neck YMCA, 39 William B. Graham Court, Kilmarnock, or call 435-0223.
