On June 9 and 10, Area 28 Special Olympics sent a group of athletes to Richmond to participate in the State Track & Field & Bowling competition. Area 28 brought home 10 gold medals.
Ryan Cammarata took gold in both the 25 meter run and 100 meter run.
Devon Noel took gold in both the softball throw and 25 meter walk.
Chris Liljeberg took gold in both the 100 meter run and 200 meter run.
Jazmine Houston took gold in softball throw and 25 meter run.
Holly Smith took gold in both the 25 meter run and 100 meter run.
Travis Hundley and Scott Hinson brought home fifth- and seventh-place ribbons, respectively, for bowling.
